After your fence is built, we always recommend staining for added longevity, protection from insects, and an added look. If your existing fence is strong, it may just need a wash and some color to bring it back to life.
Prior to staining an older fence, we highly recommend pressure washing it. Some people choose to solid stain over the old coat. While this is possible we always recommend a good cleaning for the best application.
There are two types of stain, we will start with Solid Stain. Solid stain applies like paint to cover any blemishes as well as covering the natural grain of the wood. Solid stain will protect your fence for a longer period, however you lose the look of the natural wood grain. Solid stain is a great choice for those looking for a solid color fence and is most common with older fence re-sprays.
Our other fence staining option is a Semi-Transparent Stain. We recommend going with a semi transparent stain because it provides both the protection from the elements and shows that beautiful wood grain. With a semi-transparent stain your fence will have added protection against rot and insects. These stains are oil based which also protects against the harsh UV rays. Available in over 50 colors we can get you the exact look your shooting for.
